Brief Answer:
the corticosteroid injection was probably given into a nerve.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HealthcareMagic, the corticosteroid injection was probably given into a nerve.
Is there any swelling and redness?
Is the injection site hard?
How many days back was it given?
At present I will recommend you take a course of anti inflammatory drugs like Motrin with acidity cover for a week.
Please revert back with answers to my queries to help me advise you better.
