What Causes Pain In The Center Of The Chest And Vomiting?

default
Posted on Tue, 6 Jun 2017
Question: I have had moderate chest pains in the center of my chest since 4:00 am (total now of 6 hours). I have had vomiting 4 times. Throwing up all of my daily meds & cereal for breakfast. I feel like it may be indigestion since I ate a fairly heavy meal last night. What should I do. I had a heart XXXXXXX 2 yrs. ago & all was good.

Brief Answer:
It's likely gastritis, reflux, and acidity, but getting ECG is worthwhile

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Most probably it's an acidity, reflux, and gastritis. But, I think considering your age, although you had everything clear 2 years back, you should get ECG done just to be sure.

You should avoid fatty, oily and spicy diet. Have some walk after having food instead of taking rest. Have multiple small meals instead of heavy meals. Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.

You should get prescribed PPI/antacid tab Pantoprazole 40 mg or Esomeprazole-Domperidone combination before breakfast once a day for 2 weeks.

If not adequately relieved, then you should add Syr sucralfate or Gelusil two teaspoon three times a day for a week. For vomiting, if not responding to above, you can have tab Ondansetron 4 mg whenever needed upto three times a day.

Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.
Regards
