What Causes Pain In Testicles?

Question: dear sir

i am having pain in the the veins surrounding my testicles.one doctor has predicted that it may be Lupus erythematosus.i have undergone antibiotics treatment.there is no pain in the morning but in the afternoon.few months back i have taken antibiotics which developed red rashes on the legs after that i have taken medication red rashes has gone but this pain persist.what should i do which medicine should i take

I understand your query and concern.

Pain in the region of testicles could be possible epididymo orchitis/inflammation of the testis.

The rash you developed is drug/antibiotic related hypersensitivity and is very unlikely to be SLE.

In order to confirm the accurate diagnosis,i advise you to have the following tests
1.Ultrasound scrotal doppler.
2.Complete blood counts.
3.Urine culture and sensitivity.

Meanwhile analgesics like Flexon twice a day taken under doctor's prescription will be helpful.

thanks doctor for your advice i just want to know then why i feel very tired even after proper sleep and the pain is not always constant sometime it goes.and in the evening during this cold condition i sweat profusely........one doctor recommended me for chest x ray i have undergone it but report didnt show anything.

I have gone through your uploaded prescriptions.

For effective elimination of testicular infection,antibiotics like Gudcef CV One tablet twice a day for 7 days will clear the infection.

thanks for your suggestion,you have recommended me this medicine.but i have tried cepodem 200 earlier also,this medicine works i feel like its working but it is unable to eradicate my problem completely.can u suggest few more medicine.or i have to go for steoridal treatment.................doctor i have a lots of hope, i have already shown to 3 docotor.pain is not always constant.

Hi Sir,

I understand your concern.

In case if you have not completely responded to Cepodem 200,empirical antibiotic therapy can be started against organisms like E coli and Chlamydia via a 3 drug regimen.

This includes Single Dose of Tab Azithromycin 1 gm PO plus Ceftriaxone 250 mg Single( intramuscular) plus 1 gm Metronidazole PO single dose.

This is followed by tab Levofloxacin 500 mg PO once daily for 10 days.

Most cases respond to the above regimen.

In case if you have not responded to above regimen,you can be started on Tab Hetrazan ,presuming filarial infection.

Please note all the above mentioned drugs have to be taken only under strict medical supervision.

Yes you should undergo scanning and culture once you finish the antibiotic course.

Pain over the testicle take more time to resolve,hence you need not worry of this.

The pain can be minimised by taking Tab Flexon thrice a day for one week plus Tab Pantocid -D 40 mg once daily on empty stomach for 7 days.

Please note these drugs have to be taken under strict medical supervision.

This along with regular ice packs,scrotal support and elevation will help to reduce the pain.

This by no means can be sarcoidosis,definitely not!!

In case if you perceive incapacity of the antibiotic,its extremely important to urine culture and sensitivity at the earliest.

This test can accurately identify offending organisms and with accurate sensitivity to required antibiotic.

Do not try another antibiotic as you may develop resistance of the organisms to external antibiotics.Its not safe to use higher antibiotics without sensitivity results after failure of presumptive oral empirical course.

Culture and sensitivity results come in 48 hrs.Hence I advise you to give the sample at the earliest

Infection especially of acute onset can be reliably ruled out by urine culture.

But few cases of chronic epididymo orchitis need not present on urine culture.

Hence these forms needs to be identified on Scrotal Ultrasound doppler and Ultrasound abdomen.

We need to think of another possibilities,only if these scans turn out negative.
