What Causes Pain In Testicle When I Bend Over?

default
Posted on Fri, 4 Sep 2015
Question: I am 65 yrs. old. Good health take high bp medicine,30mg adderall, 3 lortab 10 per day.
Had back surgery 4 yrs ago. herniated disc l4/5, severe back & R leg pain before surgery.
Ok for 3 yrs. now low back pain on other side (left). No leg painbut when I bend over, stoop, any kind of work that involves bending over I have back (cramps?) can't stand for more than 15 min. Can't walk over 2 blocks or low & mid back hurt like cramp. One yr ago carried 45 lb tv upstairs, did not hurt back. Next day felt pain in right testicle.Pain worse when I bend over 5-10 degrees to wash dishes or brush teeth
pain in low back & r. testicle. Went to DR. checked for hernia or infection for testicle pain. both negative.
One yr. later still have R testicle pain not constant but when I bend over or stand on r leg. Not severe but bothersome. Have noticed testicle pain while in bed sleeping. Should I be concerned about bladder cancer? How do they diagnose bladder cancer & what are other symptoms? No visible blood in urine but noticed I have no control of pressure when urinating like I did 20 yrs. ago. Dr. checked prostate said mildly swollen, psa 1.6. Does my back pain mabey causing testicle pain or did I pull a ligament carrying tv
upstairs or what do you think. I noticed a year ago I was walking with no shoes on ground and testicle pain became so bad could not walk, had to go sit down. Next day it had gone back to just mild pain in testicle when I bend over, still have mild pain today. Thank You for your consideration. I am 5. 11" 225

Brief Answer:
Rule out hernia / Epididymitis, bladder cancer less likely

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HCM

Feeling a twinge of pain from time to time in the scrotum is quite common. If a man experiences this sort of pain and it disappears after a minute or two, he doesn’t have to worry.

Is there a swelling in the groin, sometime hernia can present with similar symptom. Is there any testicular swelling. An examination would be ideal for better assessment. So I would suggest you to see general surgeon for exact diagnosis. Also another condition that is chronic Epididymitis, it also present with same simpleton also associated with slightly enlarged, warm scrotum, do you have any of these symptom.

Regarding bladder cancer, I feel it is not likely, but it can be easily diagnosed by cystoscopy or by using cytology.
To clear your own doubt, you can ask the doctor for the diagnosis.

Take care.

THANK YOU DR. NAIK, I HAVE BEEN TO A DR. HE CHECKED FOR A HERNIA WHICH WAS NEGATIVE, ALSO NO SWELLING, OR WARM AREA. HE CHECKED FOR TENDERNESS AND EPIDIDYMITIS WHICH HE FOUND NONE. WHEN I BEND OVER TO PICK UP SOMETHING, OR JUST BEND OVER THE SINK TO BRUSH MY TEETH OR PUT
MY WEIGHT ON MY RIGHT LEG AND LEAN FORWARD I FEEL PAIN IN THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RIGHT TESTICLE. THERE IS NO PAIN TO TOUCH, MILD PAIN WHEN DR, CHECKED FOR INGUINAL HERNIA BUT THE MOST PAIN IS WHEN I HAVE WORKED BENDING OVER OR SLIGHT LEAN 10 DEGREES OVER THE SINK TO BRUSH TEETH WITH WEIGHT ON RIGHT LEG. A YEAR AGO I WORE NO SHOES ON FLAT GROUND AND IT HURT REAL BAD ( R. TESTICLE) FELT BETTER WHEN I PUT SHOES ON WITH ARCH. MY BACK ALSO CRAMPS VERY BAD IF WORK BENDING OVER OR WALK FOR MORE THAN A BLOCK,OR STAND MORE THAN 15 MIN.
REST WILL MAKE THE BACK & GROIN PAIN GO AWAY, BUT STARTS UP AGAIN WHEN I START MOVING AROUND (SLIGHT PAIN IN BACK & R TESTICLE) TO VERY BAD PAIN IN BACK & R TESTICLE IF I DO 15 MINS OF WORK BENDING, STOOPING, TWISTING, GETTING UP OFF FLOOR ETC. SEEMS THE TESTICLE PAIN
MAY BE RELATED TO THE BACK PAIN. HAD SURGERY 2/1/2010 FOR BACK PAIN,HERNIATED DISC L4/5. REMOVED PART OF DISC. NO FUSION. NO TESTICLE PAIN AT THAT TIME BEFORE OR AFTER THE SURGERY. TESTICLE PAIN STARTED MAY OF 2014 AFTER I CARRIED A TV UP FROM BSMT. I AM STUMPED. THE DR HAS NO DIAGNOSIS.

Brief Answer:
Use tighter undergarment to restrict the movement of scrotum

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As the common causes have been ruled out, as with examination the doctor has not found anything else.
I would suggest you to tight undergarment, so as to restrict the movement of the scrotum, and observe if there any improvement.

Take care

WITH STAIR STEP EQUIP. & USING WEIGHTS ATTACHED TO PULLEY'S. I THINK IT

MAY HAVE HELPED SOME BUT STILL HAD PAIN (NOT AS BAD). I FEEL I HAVE TO

PULLED A LIGAMENT (ARE THERE LIGAMENTS IN THE TESTICLE AREA?) IT IS "NO

MUSCLE,BONE,JOINT,OR SKIN PAIN, IT FEELS MORE NERVE PAIN. COULD IT BE

THE "GENITAL BRANCH OF THE GENITOFEMORAL NERVE" THAT I MAY HAVE

INJURED WHEN I CARRIED THE TV UP THE STAIRS & I JUST HAVE NOT STAYED

OFF OF IT TO LET IT HEAL? I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE OF THE TIME (16 MTHS)

THAT I HAVE HAD THIS R. TESTICLE PAIN. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THIS OR

TREATED THIS CONDITION? MY BACK HAS 3 BULGING T-3,4,5 DISCS, BONE

SPURS IN CERVICAL AREA, HERNIATED L4-5 (SURGERY HELPED) SPINAL

STENOSIS. I JUST LIVE WITH THE PAIN WITH 2-3 PAIN PILLS PER DAY.IF I INJU

RED A LIGAMENT, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL OR WILL IT HEAL SINCE I

CAN'T STAY IN THE RECLINER ALL DAY (THATS WHEN IT DOESN'T HURT, BACK

OR TESTICLE. SHOULD I BE CONCERNED OR SEEK A SPECIALIST? ARE THERE

ANY EXERCISES I CAN DO TO KEEP MY BACK LOOSE & TRY TO STAY IN DECENT

SHAPE. THANK YOU. XXXXXXX XXX

Brief Answer:
Second opinion can be considered

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As suggested earlier, try using tighter undergarment, and also as much as possible try not to strain yourself for few days and look for any improvement.

If you still feel discomfort, you can go for second opinion, by another surgeon.

It is difficult to say what is the problem, without examination.
