What Causes Pain In Ribs And Indigestion?

Question: Over the past two weeks, I have been eating a lot of fatty foods and chocolate and sweets. Over the past few days, I've been getting pain under my right and left rib cages. Today, I had a major bowel movement and have a sore pain in the middle of my chest like indigestion. I'm thinking I need to better my eating habits and cleanse myself from this horrible diet. What do you recommend for relief that is safe and natural? Any teas? Warm water and lemon?

Hi my dear,

I understand your concern.

The pain you feel under your right and left rib cage are due to gas distending bowels that was caused by bad diet (fatty foods, chocolate, etc)

Stopping taking these foods will improve your symptoms.

I also advise to :
- increase fluids intake especially water
- warm water with lemon can help. I also advise my patients to add soda bicarbonate for better results
- eat more fresh fruits and vegetables like apples to ease digestion
- be more physically active
- mint or turmeric tea can help
- take OTC antacids

In a few days after stopping those foods, you'll get better.
