What Causes Pain In Lower Abdomen And Blood In Urine?
Question: I've had blood in my urine for a few days at a time on and off for the last few months without pain but now I have blood more than before in my urine with pain and pressure in the lower left abdominal area the blood is even noticeable when I wipe after urinating.I've had an hystorectpomy in 1997 but have one ovary lft floating so not to need hormones so young I'm just getting worried I don't feel well with the bleeding this time I know its not a kidney stone I've had those in the past the pain is on my left as if it were my ovaries but with blood in my urine. Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have pain in lower abdomen and blood in urine since couple of months.
The pain in lower abdomen and hematuria could be due to following common factors.
1) Stone in either kidney or Ureter
2) Infection of the urinary system.
3) Any mass lesion either in kidney ,ureter or bladder
You need to consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
2) Ultrasound Scanning of abdomen and C.T Scan if needed.
3) Intra venous Pyelography(I.V.P.)
4) Endoscopic examination of bladder.(Cystoscopy)
Further treatment will be decided by him on results of these tests and final diagnosis,
