Brief Answer:
Could be apthous ulcer

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

The commonest cause for pain in oral site is possibly due to apthous ulcer. The ulcer could be situated at the frenulum or surrounding. I hope there was no trauma or history of bitting hard things like nuts.
Exact diagnosis will depend on clinical examination. It would be more helpful if you could provide me with clinical photograph of the same.
In the meanwhile I would suggest you the following
1. Chlorhexidine mouth gargle thrice a day
2. Local application of Benzocaine (local anaesthetic) gel will be helpful.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care
Best Regards
