Question: i had 6 stitches on top of foot from a gash. really no pain for 3 days, with constant walking. this morning the foot hurts when i put pressure on it with just slight swelling. no infection or redness. i had gashed it on a door. is this delayed pain normal?

Brief Answer:
Its normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

During the healing process new nerve endings will be laid which give the stinging sensation in or around the wound.

The delayed pain if not associated with increased temperature, redness or pus is a sign of healing. There could be mild itching in the surrounding skin too.

There is no need to worry, maintain the wound clean.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.

Regards,m

My MIR report reads: well circumscribed mass in the left paradoxical muscle at the level of c4_5 deep to the left semispinalis muscle belly . Marginally increased from 9x8x14mm to12x11x16 . There is a slight mass effect and deviation of surrounding muscles.Impression: previously noted mass along g left paraspinal muscle at c4_5 has very marginally increased from 4_17_13. It does show enhancement and could represent a small peripheral nerve sheath tumor or other soft tissue mass. My question is ? What s is the next step? From reading this report, is this something I should be alarmed about?
