What Causes Pain During Intercourse While On Lidocaine?

Question: Hello doctor,
Im 29 years old.. i feel pain during intercouse.. can i apply lidocaine gel (lox2%gel) on my vagina.. If so how should i use it.. will it cause any side effects.or else please suggest me some other gel eases out sex pain. Im on treatment for hypothyroid...

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
There are so many causes of pain during sexual intercourse, it could be due to vaginal or urinary tract infection, dryness and vaginismus.
You can treat infections if it is due to that,you can use lubricant either lidnocaine jelly or K-y jelly, you can involve in more foreplay and do some pelvic muscles exercise to relieve pain.
