What Causes Pain At Base Of Penis And Testicular Pain?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Jun 2014
Question: I am experiencing pain at the base of my penis(maybe damage), as well as testicular pain and tightness. Also, very low sensitivity, almost no pleasure from sex until orgasm. Also my penis does not become fully erect, the head remains soft and it takes effort unlike how it used to stay erect on its own. I feel sort of disconnected from it. When around my girlfriend this causes pain. This came on quite suddenly a week or so ago, I've seen a doctor and have an appointment for a urologist. I have gotten electric shock like sensations during this time.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Thank You for consulting HealthcareMagic!

Diabetes, hypertension are some of the important causes for sexual dysfunction. However, at your age these causes may not be suspected. Sometimes, pain in genital area itself can cause low sex drive, because of pain. So, cause of this pain should be evaluated based on physical exam findings by Urologist. You might need evaluation by ultrasound of scrotum to check for any infections like epidydimitis and many other causes, after a thorough physical examination which can give a good clue. If the cause for the pain and similar symptoms is identified and managed accordingly, then the problem of sexual dysfunction also goes away.

Anxiety also plays a major role in sexual dysfunction in this age group.
