Question: Hello Doctor,

My daughter is 6 years and 8 months old.She has been complaining abdominal pain (both left side and right side) for last 2 or 3 weeks. But she is not regularly telling. But she has the tenderness when we press on stomach. We have consulted a doctor. And as per suggestion we did the blood, urine, stools and ultra sound tests. Please find the test attached. per ultrasound test it is given as PARAAORTIC LYPHADENOPATHY.

And doctor prescribed the below medicine. And told us that it could be due to infection in stomach.

Advent syrup 228.5(for 10 days , twice per day)
Junior Lanzol 30 (for 10 days , twice per day)
Enterogermina(for 10 days , twice per day)
Bevon syrup

Kindly let us know ...is it something to worry? Are we on right track with the above medication.
Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
Looks like mesenteric adenitis - no need for antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hi...I have just gone through your query.

The first PDF report is not opening. The ultrasound abdomen report I have read.

I feel it is only mesenteric adenitis. Nothing to worry about it.

There is no need to start antibiotics like Advent.

I suggest you to stop the antibiotics and also junior lanzol as this is not gastritis.

For pain relief - Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose (maximum ceiling dose of 500mg) every 4-6th hourly that too only if fever is more than 100F or pain. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.

Brief Answer:
No need for rest, let her be active, she'll forget pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi....no need to give her bed rest. Let her be active and send her to school. In that way, she will forget pain and come out of this issue faster.

There are no dietary restrictions. You can give her whatever she likes.
