default
Posted on Mon, 13 Nov 2017
Question: i went to a neurologist he did a bunch of test and concluded i had neuropathy in my feet and lower legs. He didn't prescribe and meds or exercize or diet change or anything. He said it was caused by alcohol. I don't think I drink too much especially of late. I feel like this condition is increasing. I have no pain just loss of sesation in my feet and legs and it seems to be climbing up my legs. Are there not any meds or vitamins or anything to reduce the expansion of this disease?
thank you

Brief Answer:
Upload reports and get investigated as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
Peripheral neuropathy can be due to many causes and alcohol intake is one of the reason.
You need to get other tests like nerve conduction study, blood sugar, urea, creatinine, thyroid profile, vitamin B12, immunoelectrophoresis for myeloma.
Upload any reports if available.
Methyl cobalamin supplement can be taken.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Do get back to me with reports for further queries.

Brief Answer:
Upload reports to see for any deficiency

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The supplements will only be helpful if they are deficient as found on blood investigations.
No much benefit will occur in neuropathy due to other causes.
Wishing you good health and early recovery.
