What Causes Pain And Irritation In The Left Arm?
Question: What is the cause of my left arm vein sort of hurting and irritating and I see it sink in and bulge out.
Brief Answer:
Upload photos if possible.
Detailed Answer:
Hello - Can you upload a picture? There is a button, I think on the right side of your screen, that says something like "Upload Reports". It would be helpful if you can provide a picture, under good lighting, of the vein when your arm is lowered, as well as when the area is above shoulder level. If you can't upload your photos, you can send them by email to customer service and they should be able to get them to me.
Also, have you had any recent injuries or blood draws
And when (months, years?) did you first notice this vein problem.
If you can't provide pictures, let me know and I can provide general information about what might be going on.
Thanks

Ok, I'll wait for pictures when it happens.
Without seeing what it looks like, I can say that veins have valves in various places and these can appear like a knot or bulge if the vein is close to the skin. If there is more pressure in the arm over time, a vein can develop a varicosity and bulge more. Perhaps the vein you are seeing in your left arm is a bit of an anomaly in that it is closer to the surface, or has a more prominent valve. But again, without being able to see it, these are guesses.
People can get inflammation of a vein (phlebitis) but in the arm, it is usually after a blood draw, IV or some other injury to the vein.

Ok, I see a prominent vein on the top of your forearm in the 1st two pictures, but not in the 3rd.
Is this the vein you are referring to?
And does it go down when you have your arm raised above the level of your heart?
Thanks for the pictures.
