What Causes Ornage Colored Urine?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Jun 2014
Question: When I urinate, the color on the tissue paper is frequently orangish or orangish pink, although the color in the toilet is yellow or normal. This happens everyday, just not every time I go to the bathroom. I thought maybe that meant there was blood in the urine, but do not understand why it wouldn't be that color in the toilet bowl also. This has been going on for almost a year now. I will mention it when I go for my annual gyn exam soon, but am wondering what it might mean.

Brief Answer:
presence of blood needs to be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank You for consulting HealthcareMagic!

It can be due to medication side effects sometime but as you are not taking any medicines presence of blood needs to be ruled out. It may also be due to improper digestion of certain food particles. You need a stool examination as early as possible.

Stay healthy and thank you for consulting! You can contact me again anytime, if you need clarifications or further assistance in future. Kindly rate the answer if you are satisfied.

Actually I am on several medications, as I have MS. But most I have been on for years. Except my MS med Gylenia was started a little over a year ago. I also had a negative colonoscopy a few months ago.

Brief Answer:
may be side effect of medicines you are using

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am really sorry for the delay in replying.

I think that it may be side effect of medicines you are using, possibly MS med Gylenia. No such adverse events have been reported with this med but it may be new as the timelines are compatible. You may want to bring this to the notice of your treating doctor.
