Posted on Tue, 21 Oct 2014
Question: my 6 year old had orange oily stuff floating in her poops. She was not seen yet by a doctor only a phone call. She was told to take Mira Lax. Everything I read says this could be a serious symptom to have the orange oil. Plus neon orange when she wiped. She only had it Friday night, Sat and Sunday.By sunday pm and Monday she was fine. She does always complain of pains in her stomach after she eats, that has been going on a long time. Friday in school she had a Kona ice it was orange. That evening she had some fettuccini.

Brief Answer:
Bowel movements

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
It's always important to have a full history taken and an exam done before we rush to conclusions. This could easily be something in her diet. She should be seen by her doctor and a stool sample should be sent to the lab for analysis. In the meantime, Miralax is ok to take. Keep in mind, however, that miralax will not change the color of her stool.
