What Causes Occasional Bloating In A Patient With Gastritis?

default
Posted on Fri, 22 May 2015
Question: I am a 47 year old female. I have gastritis and although i am use to the bloating ocasionally, I have been experience very different symptoms these last few days. I went to my gynecologist because i thought it might be a bladder infection but my results came back saying my urine was fine. Because i also have fibroids, i had a vaginal sonogram, but that was fine. I am very gasy, and my bowl movements are regular even though i take two prevacid capsules, every morning, I am still very bloated, which wasn't the case before. I have been experiencing bloating, have to urinate frequently, and have some pain and pressure in my lower abdomen. My gynecologist recommended I call my gesture doctor and have a colonoscopy. I also have had kidney stones before and this feels a little like that. Would that show up in a sonogram?

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your query. I think I would be able to help you.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible gastroenterological problem.

I suspect that gastritis itself may be the cause of the bloating. I think I would suggest that you try tab rabeprazole 20 mg twice daily. Along with that take syrup sucralfate 3 tsf 4 times a day.

I am quite sure that the information will be good for you.

Colonoscopy is for in testing related issue. You can try getting one. Bit I think it would be normal. and yes, with a good performance, usg abdomen can detect stones. Bit with no pain and no urinary tract symptoms, I don't think that the cause is calculi.

I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
