Brief Answer:
Probable carpal tunnel syndrome

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Judging from your description of the distribution of that numbness it looks like it corresponds to the median nerve which is commonly compressed in what is called carpal tunnel syndrome. The carpal tunnel is a narrow canal in your wrist where the median nerve passes.

It may be cause be several factors one of which is intensive use of the wrist, so your job may well be the cause.

In order to confirm the diagnosis a test called nerve conduction study is recommended. If confirmed a blood sugar test is also advised as diabetes commonly is associated with carpal tunnel syndrome.

Regarding management, reducing intensity of wrist use is necessary. Often to achieve that a wrist splint is used to protect the wrist from bending or pressing on hard surfaces.

At times when symptoms progress despite splinting surgery may be considered.
