default
Posted on Sat, 18 Apr 2015
Question: I have numbness in both my arms from the elbow to my fingertips anytime I lay down and im lying on my back. I have to standup to make it stop. Also it is a wierd pain. My numbness started in the left now both. I have to get up thruout the nite. Sometimes I can hang my arm over bed to get relief. As I sit up with my legs bent typing this message my left arm has gone numb and my right hand is starting too. I have a very physical demanding business but this numbness doesn't happen except when im lying or sitting. Im so discouraged and my quality of life is getting discouraging w/o sleep. I have a six yr old son and I've been so stressed because I dont want him worrying about me or something happening to me. Please help!

Brief Answer:
You are likely to be having cervical spondylosis

Detailed Answer:

Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. You are likely to be having early cervical spondylosis. It is confirmed by x ray of cervical spine. Treatment of it is glucosamine and analgesic such as ibuprofen ( you are taking). Mecobalamine is helpful in reducing numbness. Your pain is also related to anxiety so you can take mild anxiolytic such as alprazolam. It is prescription medicine.

You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
