Hello, Sir.I am XXXX, working in XXXXXXX I have been recently having a pounding heart.This happens at night and I get terribly afraid.My sleep is often disturbed.I met a doctor who advised me to get an ECG.I am here sending you the same report. it says SVT? What is it?Please give your valuable suggestion?Need an urgent response.

Possible AVNRT variant of Arrhythmia.

Hi Mam,

I understand your concern.

I have seen your images and gone through them in detail.

SVT is Supra ventricular tachycardia which is a form of arrhythmias. But your reports are suggestive of a different entity of Arrhythmia known as AV Nodal reentrant tachycardia.

As of now,you need only medical management.

Anti arrhythmic drugs like Calcium channel blockers or beta blockers will be advisable in your case.

In resistant case Radio frequency ablation will be the procedure of choice.

Avoid stress and anxiety.Reduce caffeine intake in your diet.

Yes you can continue with Metolar 25.It is used as first line therapy in many cases.
