Question: I am 54 years old exercise 4-5 times a week. I have LVH and high Cholestrol. and High BP I take crestor atenolol and valsartan 80/12.5 a couple weeks ago my eyes swelled up and my face was itchy. Then I developed upper left pain under my rib with some shortness of breath I was very tired and if i tried to lay on my left side it hurt. My ekg has abeen more abnormal and I am sched for an echo and stress test. My cardiologist thought my EKG has changed and is more abnormal than before. He is thinking the LVH is worse. I had blood work done and now find that my ferritin level in 500 my sat level is 80 percent and iron is also elevated. My chest xray was negative. The pain did go away on the left side but now it is back and the left side of my neck hurts and I am not able to go to exercise class. If I walk or go up the steps the area in my left rib area hurts

Brief Answer:
NO CARDIAC FAILURE AT PRESENT

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Jyothi BL and I will be answering your query.

Swelling of the eyes suggests renal cause or possible abnormal sleep.

If it were to be cardiac cause, you would possibly have lower limb edema.

Increased ferritin suggests chronic inflammation. Not to worry for now. X-ray is clear, no pulmonary edema.

Importantly control blood pressure, to control LVH. Continue with exercise, regular medication and nutritional diet. No cardiac failure at present.

Pain in left side at neck level is possibly due to abnormal sleeping position. Try neck exercises. Rib hurt is possibly external bruise and increases due to deep breathing. Take rest for pain to subside completely.
If you have severe pain you can take NSAID pain killers

If you have any further queries you can ask in follow ups I will be happy to help again.
