Question: The other.night i felt nauseated and vomited but immediately felt fine and and was certain i didnt have a virus. Now i have a sensation of a lump in my throat and a near constant gagging feeling. I am unable to throw up but feel brief relief when i burp (it is a shallow burp). Then the sensation comes.back. i dont have a burning sensation like heart burn.

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

After reviewing your data my opinion is that your symptoms are suggestive for GERD (acid reflux). It's very common for patients with GERD to experience throat pain with gagging which are relieved by burping.

This is why I strongly recommend to do the following examinations to confirm the diagnosis:
- blood work
- abdominal ultrasound
- upper endoscopy

Meanwhile, I would like to suggest the following measures to improve your symptoms:
- eat often and in small portions
- avoid spicy food
- avoid caffeine, energy drink and alcohol
- use antacids (Gavicson)
- use PPI (prilosec)

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!

Hi back

You can use Gavicson and Prilosec both of them are OTC drugs.

With regards to your symptoms they are suggestive for GERD ( burping, lump in your throat) even you don't have the typical heart burning.

Wish you all the bets
