Question: I''ve been having many GI problems lately. Nausea, reflux, bloating..this may be unrelated but frequent body pains, headaches and insomnia are also challenges. I've heard everything from food allergies to EPI and ovarian cancer. Would you recommend the food elimination diet or the master cleanse? When should I see a doctor?

Brief Answer:
You need to see a Gastroenterologist. Don't use the Master cleanse diet!

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM and thanks for consulting at my healthcare forum. Your trust is all that helps us assist you online. I have carefully reviewed your health query and can well establish the sensitivity of health issues you have. I feel rally sorry for the symptoms you observe now a days.

Nausea, reflux and bloating are all due to stomach and small intestine related issues. Your stomach may be producing high acid content that is route cause of the issues. One important cause is h.pylori bacterial infection of stomach. It is treatable cause once diagnosed through different lab tests.

Yes, frequent body pains, headache and insomnia also seem to be related and seem to be an outcome of your chronic digestive system illness. Poor digestion leads to nutritional deficiency that result in many other non-digestive system symptoms as you are observing right now.

I preferably suggest you to avoid such Lemonade Diet (Master cleanse) plans. They are never proved to be promising in solving issues like this and their effects are reversible and ineffective.

You asked for food elimination:-
Yes, you need to eliminate any element from your diet that may produce excess acid and so aggravate the symptoms, like:
Caffeinated drinks
beverages and alcohol
energy drinks
chocolates
very hot food and spices.
Fried and fast food
Refined bread and processed meat products (Salmon is an adequate protein source as an alternative to meat products).

Remain physically active and take a bland and healthy diet. Plenty of clean drinking water, vegetables and salads will be better for you. CITRUCEL DIETARY FIBER SUPPLEMENT will assist you in overcoming the deficiency of dietary fiber.

Hope it helps. Please fix an appointment for Gastroenterologist consultation as soon as possible as it is mandatory to go for thorough Physical examination and diagnostic tests. Whenever you need further clarification/assistance I will be more than happy to answer your queries.

Regards!
