Question: My daughter-in-law had a granular growth in her nose which was enhanced by hormones during her pregnancy. I have never heard of this. Could you explain it to me?

Brief Answer:
Explanation is given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.

Granular growth or Granular cell tumors (GCTs), also known as Abrikossoff tumors, are rare soft-tissue neoplasms .

Most granular cell tumors are benign, although some may be locally aggressive.
Less than 2% are malignant, but these are aggressive and associated with a poor prognosis.

Granular cell tumors are typically solitary and smaller than 3 cm.

Treatment is with surgical resection.

Best regards
