Question: I have a begine menegomia at T1 T2. Going for my yearly MRI. It as of a year and a half ago had not compressed the spine. My leg muscles are often weak and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Can I be experiencing any symptoms of this menengeomia? Does one experience any symptoms if it is not compresssing the spinal cord. It is real close. I am always tired and in pain. The doctors want me to move around more but my leg muscles are so very tight.

Brief Answer:
Leg weakness may occur in your case.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your history and diagnosis.

Meningioma at T1 T2 level can cause weakness of both legs, if there is pressure on th spinal cord. Stiffness of muscles can also occur.

However, if there is no pressure over the spinal cord, then, this meningioma would not cause weakness of legs.

I hope it helps. Please get back if you have no follow up queries.

Best wishes,
