Question: wondering why i have a lot of all over muscles tightening and lately all around the abdomen to where I end up with labored breathing, short breaths causing hyperventilation. Last year I was awoken every night for about three months with very severe muscle cramps mainly in my legs and back(ribs especially) but often times in hands and arms as well. Dr took blood test and said my muscle enzymes were high but she didn't know why. Back to now.... I am experiencing heavy sweating and shaking with all over weakness almost all the time. The perspiration is from the scalp and face mainly but impossible to stop it unless I sit down or lay down and rest. Went to my dr yesterday but she does not know what is wrong, I guess the closest I could describe what I am feeling is as if my muscles are all in the state of OVERUSE. I am definitely not overusing them. I feel the exact same sensation upon awakening in the morning. It is becoming more debilitating everyday. It is difficult t o even shower and dress. Even right now, typing is strainueous. PLEASE HELP ME. I feel as though others think I just want attention or they cannot understand how weak I really feel. BTW, Dr says I have a UTI. surprised me since I didn't have any pain. She is also changing my reflux meds....XXXX.

Brief Answer:
Get done repeat muscle enzymes and muscle biopsy.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion, we should rule out myositis first.
So better to get done muscle enzymes (fresh) and muscle biopsy.
Also get done
1.Thyroid function test (TFT)
2. Serum ANA level to rule out connective tissue disease (CTD).
Antibodies to acetylcholine receptors.
You may need steroids.
Please let me know, are you taking any treatment at present.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
