Brief Answer:
Could be a cyst, abscess, etc; needs physical exam

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. A torn muscle would cause extreme amount of pain, with which you would not even be able to speak.

The only added information at hand is that you seem to almost always chew from that side, but everyone does predominantly chew from one side. Take my example for instance, I prefer and actually enjoy my food only if I chew my food on the right side, but that doesn't cause any such presentations.

In my opinion, the muscle development may change a little but due to the overuse of that side, but this should not result in a lump. I would recommend a physical examination by a doctor to rule out cysts, abscesses, etc; and accordingly recommend either drainage or oral medication to help treat it.

But there should be no cause for concern in my opinion, speak to your doctor as a physical examination will be the guiding point towards a diagnosis and treatment. Please also do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
Seems totally harmless to me

Detailed Answer:
Hi ma'am.

If it has been there for quite some time then it must be benign (harmless) and a physical examination can determine the exact medical name, which can direct treatment.

But if at all it is harmless (can be established after the examination), then it comes down to whether or not you want to go under the knife to have it removed (if it is really troubling you that much), or just let it be and go on with life.

But if it has been there for a long time, then I doubt oral medications will help in all honesty.

Best wishes.
