What Causes Moderate Lower Back Pain And Mild Cramps?

default
Posted on Wed, 17 Jun 2015
Question: I have been having some moderate lower back pain and mild cramps. My breast are tender and I'm a day late with my period. I'm saw some very light pink spotting yesterday and today. My last period was May 3rd and ended May 7th. I had unprotected sex on May 17th. I took a pregnancy test but it was negative. I am 41 and have never been pregnant. I have normal periods (never missed a period) and are rarely late more than a day or two. I would like to have children but haven't really started that journey yet. I'm healthy overall. I do have a cyst on my thyroid that is currently being monitored. My thyroid function tests are still in normal range. I also have a few fluid cysts on my ovaries but I am negative for PCOS. I know thyroid malfunctions can cause irregularities with menstrual cycles. I also know cysts can too. Since my pregnancy test is negative, should I consider that these two conditions might be the reason I am late now or am I being over concerned right now?

Brief Answer:
Don't worry. It's all going normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear XXXX!
I welcome you at HealthCare magic. I can well understand your concerns. I would like to see the semen analysis report of your partner as you said you have never got pregnant.
I want to tell you that, as female ages, conception becomes difficult in many cases and sometimes needs medical or surgical intervention too.
Your thyroid profile and ovarian status looks normal but I am worried about the cysts. When did you test them lastly?? If not in near past, please get an appointment with your Gynaecologist to get them checked.
Your dated time of intercourse looks pretty good for conception. Please do test for pregnancy from a lab after a couple of days once again and along with semen analysis give me a follow up visit and we will resolve the issue.
Hope it helps. Have a nice time ahead.
Regards!
