Hello
THanks for writing to us with your health concern.
When did your wife have her last period ?
Please mention the dates.
ALso, what is the normal pattern of her cycles ?
For how many days does she have a flow and in how many days does she regularly have her periods ?
Other than pregnancy, there are various other causes for a missed / delayed cycle - common ones are anxiety, stress, emotional tensions, late nights, erratic eating, travelling, smoking, drinking, ingestion of hormonal medications etc.
As mentioned in the medical history, your wife has PCOS.
IT is a leading condition due to which cycles are irregular.
Also, hypothyroidism can cause such a pattern
Please have a complete evaluation for PCOS.
She should have internal gynec exam - per vaginum and per speculum.
Also, a pelvic ultrasound scan, plus hormonal levels - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS, Free testosterone, Lipid Profile.
FOr PCOS, there should be proper treatment.
Weight loss and lifestyle management is the key.
Even 5 % weight loss can lead to regular cycles.
Metformin is often given , and also cyclical progesterone and oral contraceptive pills to regulate the periods.
IN addition, for conception, clomiphene citrate is often given to induce ovulation as ovulation is irregular due to hormonal imbalance.
Please have thorough evaluation along these lines for your wife after consulting a gynecologist.
IN PCOS, often, cycles are irregular so pregnancy should be confirmed by blood HCG test and an ultrasound, not just by home urine pregnancy test.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.

Detailed Answer:
Folic acid is a must if she is trying to conceive.
It cannot cause menstrual irregularities.
IF she has PCOS, she has plenty of eggs in her ovaries, and Ovigyn D is given to increase the egg count, so it is not explained why the doctor prescribed her with Ovigyn D.
I think you should see a Specialist and have a workup as described above.
Transient hormonal imbalances due to PCOS will be corrected by taking progesterone withdrawal .
Tablets like Deviry , Meprate etc when taken twice a day for 5 days and stopped, lead to a period within one week of stopping.
Take care.
