Posted on Tue, 22 Dec 2015
Question: I have a hard immovable tiny bump on the back left of my jawline right before the end of the jaw. I am really worried about it, I am only 27 years old could it be cancer?
I would say it's a little bit smaller than a pea.

Can be a lymph nodal swelling. Needs in-person evaluation.

It seems to be a lymph nodal swelling that is bothering you. Lymph nodes can swell up due to recent respiratory tract infections including throat and tonsils, mouth and ear infections. It may also be due to skin infections in the area of head and neck.

You need proper evaluation by your local Physician who will decide about what it is after careful Physical examination. Palpation of such lesions by expert hands is necessary. Your Physician will decide if you need a biopsy of the lesion or not. If yes, the lymph nodal biopsy will decide about if this is a malignant lesion or just a benign swelling of the lymph node.

However you can upload a picture of the swelling which will give a clearer picture of its nature.

Okay, thank you for the response. A picture would not do much good as you can't see it you would have to be pressing there to feel it.
