Posted on Wed, 25 Nov 2015
Question: Good Morning, Monday I banged my head on a cupboard top of head above ear about two inches up and 1/2 an inch back, left side. No major effect, broken skin, minor bleeding, and a small gooseegg. Left eye twitching under the eye. Wednesday afternoon, laying on floor and pushed feet to move, head got cricked in a funky position and sharp sharp pain in the back of my head, left side, a few inched from the base of my neck. Stopped me in my tracked. Went aeay after 30 seconds. Thought I was having a brain anuerism and prayed. Anxiety spiked at this thought and felt nauseaus. That went away after an hour. Today is Thursday morning, slept fine, seem fine, but left eye still twiching underneath. Gooseegg smaller but still tender. Thoughts?

Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

You should not think of something at extreme without any evidence.
Anyway, local irritative effects of trauma may be effecting the nearby periorbital muscles. Please keep oberving.I hope your eye twitch problems goes off soon.

Further,I can understand that anxiety may be killing out your brain. So,you may get CT scan of head done to rule out any intracranial injury. But,for now, the best strategy would be to just keep observing yourself while having plenty of fluids and adequate rest. You can go for a CT head if the symptoms persist for more than 48 hours.

If you have further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

I'm not sure what you mean by "anxiety may be killing out your brain". I no longer have anxiety. I had a huge increase of anxiety when the sharp pain occurred yesterday....two days after the head traum...because at that moment I feared I was experiencing a brain anuerism. 13 hours later I am at work and other than the twitching, I am not experiencing pain.

Should I ask my doctor for a CT?

Since for the past few hours, you are not having any pain.I suggest that you should withhold CT for now. Please keep observing yourself.I am hopeful that your twitching will improve soon.
