Question: I just had pap smear with my doctor it still hurts down there and I take pain med it not help and one of my friends still just w as just day and it my first

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Generally, a Pap smear is quite painless.
It should not be causing you this amount of pain and hurt and discomfort.
Are you sure the symptoms were not there even before the Pap was taken ?
Right now, you can apply some local aloe veral gel for relief.
If there is some amount of pain due to cervical handling, it should be fine in a matter of 1 - 2 days.
You can till then take a warm Sitz bath ( take a tubful of lukewarm water and sit cross legged in it ).
