What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain While Passing Gas?

Question: Was diagnosed with stomach muscle tear. I think it more serious. The ache is at the lower colon area. When I pass gas, the ache goes away temporarily. do I need a colonastopy Im 63 and my last was 12 yrs ago

Duration 2months. no alcohol consumption. Started with sensation lower left abdomen. not painful but present (not while lying down or asleep)Bowel movements were daily and normal but have changed lately.before the feeling of having to go came rather demanding, how the felling just hovers until I go which is a bit strained.My last DR diagnosed it a cyst (the slight bump near the area of discomfort. My present Dr says its a muscle rip/tear.no fever nausea or weight loss.
