What Causes Low Platelet Count?

default
Posted on Thu, 22 Dec 2016
Question: Two recent blood tests 7 weeks apart show low platelets (133) and lymphocytes, absolute (441) and low monocytes, absolute (41). Have had intermittent fevers ranging from 99 - 104 for over a month; my normal temp is 96 - 97.8. Also been feeling very fatigued after doing very little. Have had RA since 1989 in remission with Enbrel for over 5 years. What could be the matter? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Low cell counts including platelets are due to recurrent viral infections.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HCM. Low cell counts including platelets are due to recurrent viral infections. They normally revert to normal over a period of time. You need not worry.
Please take good anti oxidants like Vitamin C, E, Selenium etc. XXXXXXX is a good immunity booster.
One thing that has definitely helped is papaya leaf extract. See if you can get some from somewhere. In XXXXXXX it is available as capsules (Caripril) and in liquid form. If not available you can get papaya leaf from somewhere, make a paste and consume a teaspoon twice a day. You can revert back. Regards
