Question: If used to take 2 digioxin pg but now take just one as order by doctor bcos heart rate is about 43= too slow as he wants to increase it to about 50 at least!but now after taking only one instead of 2 tab which i had been doing so since 1977 heart rate gone even slower to between 39 and 40.suppose to see him again after one months timep.should i wait until then to tell him as may be body needs to adjust!

Thought lanoxin pg suppose to strenthen heart muscle= will give more energy.but bcos of heart rate too slow i was told to take one instead of 2!is this the reason why i felt less energy(at the same time heart rate is slower than before not fster

Brief Answer:
Don't wait for 1 month.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for posting your query.

Your low heart rate is not due to Digoxin but it is due to Minax . What I would recommend is to reduce the dose of Minax to 25 mg , but this may increase your Blood pressure and hence an additional Blood pressure lowering medicine has to be added. I would recommend Telmisartan for the additional Blood pressure lowering medicine.

I don't recommend you to wait for one month as heart rate less than 40 ( you had 39 ) can be dangerous. Kindly consult your doctor soon and discuss this with him.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .

Regards.

Brief Answer:
Reducing digoxin won't lower heart rate.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Even Digoxin can lower heart rate, but the probability of lowering heart rate in more with Minax and hence you need to consider reducing Minax rather than Digoxin .

I don't think your heart rate has reduced due to reduction in digoxin dose .

Kindly consider reducing Minax with additional alternative Blood pressure lowering medicine.
