Posted on Wed, 26 Nov 2014
Question: I have been taking Benicar 40 MG for sometime and feel lousy. I only found out today that it may be responsible even including a rash on my amputated leg/stump...I lost my leg 54 years ago in accident and have always worn prosthesis and first time for XXXXXXX on my stump?

Rash only on the back side(tender skin) of stump. Have felt generally lousy. I never have problems with medicines. Cab this be the problem...Benicar?

Brief Answer:
change antihypertensive

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare Magic!
Benicar contains olmesartan that can cause protein losing enteropathy, other aide effects are
Angioedema (rapid swelling of the skin)
Vomiting
Irregular heart beat
Abdominal pain
Nausea
Chest pain
Arthritis
Rash
Kidney problems, including failure
Liver impairment
Hair loss.
So the rash might be related to Benicar.
You should switch it for other safer antihypertensive drug.
I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you.
