What Causes Loss Of Sensation In The Penis?

Posted on Thu, 27 Apr 2017
Question: Hi doctor,

I'm 27 years old and have recently lost all sensation in my penis head. I can get boners and aroused, although not nearly as much as I did let's say 2 months ago. When I ejaculate I barely feel the orgasm. I am uncircumcised and usually after I orgasm my penis is incredibly sensitive, so this I a noticeable change. It has also become difficult to pee. I can't really feel the actual stream of urin near the end of my penis and feels like bladder isn't emptying. I got checked for blood and stds and both came back negative for stds and UTI swab test which also came back negative.

Any ideas???

Thank you,
doctor

Brief Answer:
Supportive care, therapeutic circumcision, sex therapy

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Discomfort urinating and painful and sensitive foreskin and loss of orgasm and pleasure sensation during coitus with normal STD work up needs a little evaluation.

Uncut foreskin can lead to this glans stimulation and can affect performance issue as well as lead to pain discomfort, streaming issues, blocking urethra if adhesive enough, smegma buildup, phimosis , paraphimosis and in complicated cases balanitis and BXO as well .

Loss of sensation could also be due to too much coital frequency or masturbation, avoid masturbation and reduce coital frequency to once a week and see if it helps. You can try some desensitizers, use manual retraction methods to keep foreskin retracted and if the pleasure sensations still the issue despite modifying coital frequency to once a week then consult a sex therapist and let them help.

Last but not the least suggestion is considering therapeutic circumcision, it may help alot in your sensations , hygiene, cosmetic looks and urinary stream as well giving urethral meatus more space to urinate. Please talk to your local urologist and let them decide what is best for you.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Regards
Khan
