What Causes Long Strings In Stool?

default
Posted on Tue, 27 Oct 2015
Question: I have passed long strings in my stool multiple times, but not every day. They are probably about 4 inches long and the color of stool usually. Tonight I noticed one in the toilet that was almost clear white with some brown. Is there anything besides worms that would cause such a long string? I told my doctor at my physical a couple months ago and she said unless I notice it all the time it's probably mucous. I have never had a colonoscopy and have not been diagnosed with any condition that would cause mucous in stool. I have pictures of one I passed recently, but it's really gross to show.

Brief Answer:
tape worm. deworming. colonoscopy

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, saw the pic. Only mucus cannot have such integrity. It is a tape worm. Please sent it for lab testing to confirm. Meanwhile please take deworming medicines from your doctor.
If you happen to get this repeatedly then a Colonoscopy may be required.
Take care.
Wish you good health.
