Posted on Thu, 14 Apr 2016
Question: This morning I was getting my dog out of his pen and i accidentally hit the lamp and it fell and hit my back below my shoulder. I can move my back and there is no pain just soreness. There is a light pink mark on my back and I am using an ice pack on it. Could I have injured my back? Please advise.

Brief Answer:
can cause minor soft tissue injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The falling of lamp could have caused a superficial soft tissue injury that caused the red mark. Using ice will cause the pain and stiffness to decrease. It is not likely to cause a back injury. It is best to rest and continue with ice for next two days and take a mild pain killer for relief.
I hope this answers your query.
