What Causes Light Period While On Depo Provera?
Question: Period remains regular at 27-28 days, but suddenly only last 2 days and is much lighter, when previously it was very heavy for 2-3 days and lasted 5-7 days.
Previously, I had Depo Provera for 3 years from 18-21 yrs and I stopped because it was an extra unnecessary expense. My periods returned and were regular after about 3-4 months off the shot. Then when I turned 26 and had a reason again to get the shot I was on Depo Provera for 6 months (then the relationship turned into a long distance one), it has been 6 months since my last shot and everything is almost normal except that everything is much much lighter and shorter than it should be.
Also, I am on Progestrone, because I have thrombophilia, but if not necessary I would prefer not to alter my hormones as I believe even Progestrone also may raise chances of thrombi, granted less than being pregnant, but the chance is there.
Is there any cause for concern, in relation to my menstrual cycle?

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
I don't see any reason to worry.
Being on progesterone itself might lead to a lighter period.
Please have regular ultrasound scan and Pap smear though.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further
