What Causes Large Stools While Having Diastasis Recti And Hiatal Hernia?

default
Posted on Mon, 4 Jul 2016
Question: My bowel movements are large. Therefore, I have to squeeze when having a BM. I have diastasis recti (probably a result of squeezing) and hiatal hernia. Is there anything that can be done to make the movements smaller? Is there anything for the diastasis recti and HH besides surgery? Thank you

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows :
1.You are reporting to have large bowel movements. I need to know if you have constiaption and hard stools?
2. With regards to diastasis recti I can say that hard stools and squeezing can cause it.
The treatment of diastasis recti consist on diet ,exercises and surgery. The definitely and most successful treatment is surgery.
3.In such cases like you in clinical practise I recommend :
- eat often and small amount of meal
- avoid constipation by using plenty of water and olive oil
- try to go 2-3 times in toilet to get bowel movement more often than usually.
- perform exercises like squat with squeeze, upright push up, swimming.
- try to loose weight if you are overweight

Hope it was helpful to you.
If you have other concerns I would be glad to assist you further.

Hi DR. K. Yes, I do have frequent constipation. If I do not take a product like Oxy Powder, which cleanses the colon with oxygen, I will have a large volume of hard stools of small round balls. If I take Oxy Powder, the stools are sometimes hard, sometimes not, but can be rather large. I think if I do not correct the large stool problem, I will not be able to correct the DR problem.

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

I agree with them fact that constipation a grab ates your situation.
On their other hand DR causes constipation too.
To my opinion at your situation you need to have a healthy diet plus oxypowder.
The healthy diet and lifestyle consist on :
- use plenty of water
- avoid unnecessary stress
- use olive oil three teaspoons per day
- use fresh fruits and vegetables
- increase physical activity like swimming
It is important to discuss with surgeon about DR. Correction of DR will help to improve constipation too.
Hope it was helpful to you!
