Question: my wife is 3 months pregnant now, I went to doctor she did vaginal scanning and she told there is no cardiac activity, but before everything was perfect, cardiac activity also fine that time, kindly advice whether I have to go for DNC or I can wait

1. No fetal cardiac activity indicates a non viable pregnancy and fetus is dead. This is to be confirmed by two doctors before going for D and C. This is a rule followed by most doctors.

2. I suggest a scan by another doctor and if no fetal cardiac activity is confirmed then you can go for D and C.

3. Early fetal death can be due to many reasons including those in the developing fetus. It is difficult to exactly point out the cause of death in the fetus after 3 months.
