Question: Hello, I received a pretty good concussion about 16 months ago. I had no lost of consciousness but was very close to passing out, I have had problems with concentrating, remembering, any thinking in general. I have other symptoms that I would be wondering about the the MRI doctor said everything was fine, I had a pretty good mild traumatic brain injury. and it should heal in a few months to a year. Could something else cause these things, I was a straight A student up until I had this injury and everything went down hill from them. I am also bipolar 1, can you give me advice PLEASE:)

Brief Answer:
The neuroplasticity of the brain can come to your rescue

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking once again on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query. I see that an MRI has already been done and that it does not show anything concrete. In such a case it is clear that the head injury caused damages in the microscopic level, damaging connections and therefore affecting the functioning capacity of the brain. Now, the plasticity of the brain is high. Plasticity means the capacity of the brain to regrow the connections and to fill in the gaps. But this depends upon how you exercise the brain. In other words, you would need to exercise your brain really well if you want to regain the functionality that you once had.

Medicines or any medical intervention would not really help.
