Brief Answer:
Bone injury may be there.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The appearance of a knot and difficulty in bending the knee is suggestive of an injury of the internal structures of the knee. A fracture can also be there. You need to get an MRI scan of the knee done to find out the extent of injury. Avoid weight bearing on the knee and keep the leg elevated to reduce the swelling. It usually takes 4-6 weeks to heal.
I hope this answers your query.
