Posted on Mon, 14 Sep 2015
Question: I have had a fever (102.4-100.4) for 6 days. I have seen my regular doctor and he put me on antibiotics. My question is the my knee replacement knee is bothering me (can put entire weight on it without pain). Should I be concerned?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
Could you tell me when was knee surgery performed.
The cause of fever should be determined. It can be infection of joint or prothesis but any other infection in body as well. Antibiotics may be given empirically but still the infection cause should be established. Knee replacement may carry risk for imlpant infection and it could cause pain so you should do xrays of knee and check your inflammatoryy markers. Wish you good health. Regards
