Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The high TSH levels are indicative of a thyroid deficiency and she needs to continue taking thyroxine regularly. The levels needs to be checked after every 3 months for dosage regulation.
The numbness in the joints can be due to decreased Vitamin B 12 levels or due to decreased thyroxine levels. She can take methylcobalamin and calcium supplements for a few days and see if it helps.

A healthy diet for someone with hypothyroidism would include natural foods, whole grains, lots of fruits and vegetables and a good supply of seafood and other lean protein. She should cut back on meats that are high in fat -but not all meats are bad for her. A multivitamin is probably a good idea if she isn't already taking one.
Selenium supplements and foods rich in selenium- brazilian nuts and lean meat will help a lot.
The diet for hypothyroid should not include raw foods such as cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, mustard greens, XXXXXXX spinach, peaches, pears, strawberries, radishes and millet.

Bananas, avocado, XXXXXXX sage herb help to stimulate the thyroid gland.

Spirulina also is good since it contains high amount of Iodine.

Foods that are high in Vitamin B like meat, dairy products, soy bean, cereals, whole grains, beans, pulses, tuna, salmon, herring, nuts, seeds, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, corn, okra, parsnips, grapes, raspberries, watermelons, guavas, dates, grapefruit and avocadoes are good to eat.

She should avoid certain foods that include white flour products, white sugar, flesh foods, fried or greasy foods, preserves, condiments, tea, coffee and alcohol, all refined foods, pickles, alcoholic beverages and smoking.

Iodine is undoubtedly most helpful in many cases, but it should be introduced in organic form. All foods containing Iodine should be taken liberally.

These are cabbage, carrots, garlic, onion, oats, pineapple, whole rice, tomatoes, watercress, strawberries and Asparagus.

The protein foods should be confined to cheese, peas, beans, lentils and nuts. All flesh proteins must be avoided.

Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
