Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query in HealthcareMagic,

Kidney stones may arise when any imbalance of water, salt, minerals or other substances in the urine changes.
Most common cause arises due to insufficient intake of water. As a result, there occurs a an increase in the concentration of the solutes in urine, which thereafter sticks to the lining of the urinary system, and after due course of time, may present as stones.
The different types of stones are:
- Calcium
- Struvite
- Oxalate
- Uric acid
- Cystine

Recurrence in kidney stones can also be seen in certain conditions:
- in patients who are inactive or bed ridden
- Who consumes high protein diet
- Any congenital defect in the urinary system
- prone for urinary tract infection
- on certain long term medications

I hope this helps,
