Brief Answer:
photographs, missing points in history

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for posting on HealthcareMagic.
I appreciate your concern regarding the rash over your genitals and i will try to solve your problem in best possible way.

There are lot of missing details in your history and description and thus the definitive diagnosis of your condition is difficult to reach unless a proper physical examination is done.

From your description of lesions, it could be anything ranging from some infection to allergic reaction or dermatitis.

For better understanding of your condition, i would like to request a good quality photographs of your condition along with following history :

* Duration of condition?
*Associated pain or itching over lesions?
*Associated complains like burning sensation while urination or painful or enlarged lumps in groin and thigh area?
*History of similar condition in past?
*History of sexual exposure? how recent? protected or unprotected? your partner having any symptoms/complains like whitish discharge from vagina or ulceration etc?
*Details of the medicated cream you were applying?

Hope you will revert back with the required details at the earliest.
Thanking you

Brief Answer:
herpes, antiviral drugs

Detailed Answer:
Okay thank you for the details still i would have wanted to see the clinical pictures.

Anyways from your details and history, i could think of only a provisional diagnosis of Herpes progenitalis.

Herpes progenitalis is a viral infection of transmitted most commonly via sexual route. It usually presents within few weeks of unprotected intercourse with a known case of herpes and presents as tender, multiple tiny superficial erosions on your genitals. It has tendency to recurrence though recurrences are usually milder.

I would suggest you consult your dermatologist immediately for proper management.

Apart from clinical examination, i generally advise certain investigations like S.VDRL est, Serum HIV antibody test and IgG and Ig M against Herpes simplex virus.

After diagnosis, treatment is straight forward. In my patients of Herpes progenitalis, i usually advise them to take proper course of oral anti-viral drugs like Acyclovir or Valacyclovir for few days along with antibiotic cream for the erosions.

I would suggest total abstinence from intercourse till complete resolution of condition.

Avoid pricking/scratching of lesions.

Always use condom while having intercourse with unknown person to prevent transmission of infections.

Hope your query is solved.
