What Causes Itchy Small Bumps On Face Post A Face Lift?

Question: I had a face lift 4 months ago with internal dissolving stitches. my face was extremely swollenfor months after and very itchy. I have been injected with a steroid i think to help break up the hard swelling i am so itchy now with small lumps (like insect bites) that feel like i have something crawling under my skin. Am i allergic to steroid injection or is this the healing process driving me bonkers?

If you do not mind me asking, when was the first steroid shot taken? And did you develop the itching and insect bite-like rash immediately or a while after the steroid shot?

I am guessing this is most probably an allergic reaction to the shots (which were most probably cortisone shots). You can try benadryl or report to your prescribing doctor or the emergency room (ER) for adequate management of the itching and rash-like appearance.

Some individuals even experience a reaction to steroid shots after 2-3 weeks of use, so do not worry about a delayed reaction; please report to an ER for a confirmation of diagnosis. A physical examination of the rash will help confirm the fact of the presentation possibly being an allergic reaction or any other issue.
