What causes itchy red watery eyes?

Question: Hi, my left eye was very red and had discharge coming out of it yesterday. I self-diagnosed it as pink eye and was planning to go to the doctor this morning. When I woke up my eye was significantly better and although I had "crusties" decided not to go since my eye was so much better. I haven't had any discharge all day. My eye is still a bit swollen and a little red but much better than yesterday. Also, the day before I had my make up done at a makeup counter and I'm thinking she had some unclean brushes. Should I go to the doctor? I have a trip planned Thursday that I don't want to miss.

Brief Answer:
You could try OTC medicines or visit a doctor directly

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I have checked the attached image and it does not appear too concerning. You can try ocular decongestants are Naphcon, Prefrin or Opcon A (available over the counter). Also wash your eyes frequently with plain water. If that does not help, it would be a good idea to see a doctor.

If you have a trip planned on Thursday, it might not be a good idea to wait and watch. In such a case you could visit the doctor without delay.

Regards
