What Causes Itchy Red Dots On The Clitoris?

default
Posted on Mon, 11 Jul 2016
Question: I have noticed small red dots (not bumps I'm fairly sure as I touch them and they don't feel raised) just on my clitorous that are only itchy. No puss or blisters either and no other symptoms of being unwell. I'm really hoping this doesn't sounds like herpes. At first I thought it was just a yeast infection, but I can't ever remember seeing red dots on my clitorous. I can't find anything on the Internet about it either. It is uncomfortable to try to touch the dots though, but not painful and maybe that's just because the xlitorous has so many nerves?

Brief Answer:
Kindly send good resolution pictures of the affected area.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the bumps on the clitoral area.

After diligently analyzing your history let me reassure you that the red bumps doesn't sound to be related to herpes at first instance. In herpes we find fluid filled blisters rather than red bumps which forms ulcers within a day of occurrence.

Even them for the best help I request you to kindly send few good resolution and illuminated pictures of the affected area. Also do let me know recent history of unprotected intercourse.

Hope to hear soon from your side.

All I have is my phone but I'll try to send pictures tomorrow (as it is late here) but I looked again before bed and maybe because of the cream or a different way the light was shining they have seemed to have faded a little. Is it possible that this is just the way my clitorous looks and I've never really noticed before and maybe it's just a yeast infection (which I get often, especially after sex)? I had sex about 1.5 months ago and about a week ago, 2 different partners which is unlike me, so that's why I'm a little worried. I'm relieved you don't think its herpes though! Definitely no fluid filled blisters, just painless red dots. I find after using the hydrocortisone cream as well the itching has reduced (although it wasn't very prominent to begin with, just every now and then )

Brief Answer:
Apply hydrocortisone very thinly.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome back and thanks for your swift response.

As I guided you that we find small fluid filled vesicles in herpes so as per your description it doesn't appear to be herpes.

A good resolution picture will help us out the best. I request you to not to apply hydrocortisone on higher side. Just apply very thinly. I will wait for the pictures and then guide you best.

I'm not sure how to send pictures, and is it safe to do so? Also, the red dots have disappeared but the itch is still there. Also, if it was herpes wouldn't it have been on the outside of my genitals as well?

Brief Answer:
No worries. Herpes could be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome back and thanks for your further follow up.

Herpes can affect the complete visible paet of the genital arwa or anywhere around the mucous membrane and skin. As I can get from your history that the bumps have reduced so I am pretty confident that these are not related to herpes. Though a picture would have given us best possible cause.
